Learn About Plant Propagation and More

A series of 45-minute workshops begins at 9 am.

The workshops being offered are:
  • Soda bottle propagation (bring one 2-liter clear soda or water bottle to participate)
  • Seed starting
  • Lawn aeration
  • Tool sharpening and maintenance  (bring a non-mechanized tool like a shovel, hoe, or pruning shears – be sure to label with your name.)

Tour our Demonstration Garden

Stroll through the Earth-Kind® Demonstration Gardens as docents will be available to discuss planting and upkeep of the gardens. The Earth-Kind® approach uses native and adapted plants and water-efficient design and maintenance. The series of gardens have plants for different needs, including drought tolerance, color, full sun, and shade. There are ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, perennial flowers, Earth-Kind® roses, vines, and groundcovers. The gardens are also home to many species of beneficial insects. Many certified Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice.

Daphne Richards, County Extension Agent – Horticulture, at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, said, “I will be there and am excited to give you a tour of the Earth-Kind® Gardens at the Extension Service office located in southeast Austin.”
