County Extension Agent – Agriculture and Natural Resources
Noel began in his current position as CEA-ANR for Travis County in mid-January of 2018. He started his Extension career as an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Agent for the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service in 1986, after completing his B.S. and M.S. in Entomology at Louisiana State University. After completing his doctorate in Entomology at Purdue University in 1997, Noel took a position as an Extension Entomologist at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Uvalde (a position he held until 2011). Along the way, Noel farmed soybean and sugarcane in Louisiana, also worked as a crop consultant (in cotton, corn, grain sorghum, soybean, sugarcane and wheat), managed a cattle, deer and elk ranch for three years, and consulted on citrus-greening disease in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
